Hi Steve,

i hope this finds you well. It was great speaking with you last night, we are so thrilled to make contact with you.

A quick note about us and what we do. Umi and I are graduate students in VCU's sculpture department. As part of our work for this year we are creating and implementing an experimental, spiritually-oriented, citizen-science course that we have playfully called UrBag (Urban Agriculture).

We are particularly excited about mycology and it's multivalent role in creating and inspiring a new future for this planet. Some projects we have in mind are creating mycelium mold sculptures, growing mushrooms in different substrates and mycoremidiation. One of the cool things about us coming from an arts background, is that we have access to institutional resources, but are free of some of the institutional pressures that come with projects within a biology or environmental science context.

So, us three are super excited and looking forward to meeting you and spending the day with you on September 23rd. We are very humbled and still reeling from your invitation, a great feeling.

Sincerely,
Petra and Umi
